Primers the all important first step

5 years ago GW made a great Black and White primer,it even said primer on the can.
But a few years ago they changed the formula,I believe it is now just regular paint in the spray can as opposed to true primer.
A true primer has a slightly rougher texture than paint to better help hold the paint onto the figure.
In the search for a replacement I found Grey Tamilya Surface Primer.
It goes on very thin but covers surprisingly well.
I use this for most of my work now unless the figure is going to be black.
In that case I use Armory Black Primer.

It covers well but you have to use a few layers do not try to get it all in one go because it is thick stuff and will obscure some detail.
The Floor is open what kind of primer do you guys use and why?

What is The Art of War?

Hello I am Bigwill from the 40k community.
I am creating this blog for all the tutorials, tips and tricks I find out on the Interwebs to go in one place to help fellow 40k modelers how to take it up to the next level.
My current projects will still be on Heresy Workshop.
But I am constatly always trying new techniques and methods I read about on the site.
So there should be interesting articles here in the future.
